About myself

Science has been a passion and i have pursued it with dedication since my childhood. Today i am part of cutting-edge academia as i research about molecular basis of cellular signaling and be in a position to understand human diseases at a molecular level.
I have strongly believed that as citizens of this world, we share the responsibility to serve the less privileged ones. I was beginning to feel that i am not doing anything that comes close to be called 'service to humanity' and then Asha happened to me.

Why am I running a marathon?

Never did i think that i will be running, leave aside running a half-marathon. Inspired by my friends from Austin i began running. Running is fun and as someone said- "I run because i come back with a state of mind that three coffees, two flirtatious emails and a week of vacation can't give me". I enjoy the spirit of running and hey, i live the spirit of teamasha.

So why Asha?
Asha for Education aims to see a better tomorrow through the education of underprivileged kids. I was very proud to be running for this cause last year, following which I have been fortunate to be able to start a chapter in AnnArbor with the support of some wonderful volunteers. Asha-AnnArbor is an active student chapter today and i am hopeful that our chapter supports grass-roots level education projects in India.
