About myself

I am an engineering technical specialist in the automotive industry in Metro Detroit. I took up running for fitness during my university years. It was also a good release from engineering studies. After running a few 5Ks, 10Ks and relays, I ran the marathon in Seattle. The last four miles were so painful (more pain than the 4 degrees and 12 years at engineering school!), that I told myself I would never run another marathon. Well, that was 10 years ago.

Why am I running a marathon?

Running a marathon is my ultimate goal for fitness. Running for a cause further motivates me to get back into shape (yes I gained 20 lbs since Seattle).

Why Asha? To give children a choice for a better life through education. I strongly feel that education is the largest and most important factor that improves communities economically and socially. I would like to make a difference for children who do not have the opportunities for a good school education. Your contribution to this cause will be much appreciated.
Thank you!
