About Asha
What volunteers know. 
Yash talk - Asha for Education, underprivileged
children in India, why Asha exists - easier to
fundraise outside of India, more organization,
out-of-the-box perspective, raise awareness,"flat
organization, " coordination team, no overhead costs,
chapters free to choose projects, project steward
position - point of contact between the chapter and
the project

Project discussion (Could Abhyuday for Book Bank;
Yash/Sowmya for SSS lead the discussion ??)
Yash/Ashwini talk about Sandnya Sanwardhan Sanstha
(Nagpur, Maharashtra) - School for mentally challenged
children of different levels, close attention,
financial as well as help with ideas for improvement,
hope to focus on a section of this huge project,
different kinds of problems kids face and details
about their progress, legal issues in India wrt
mentally handicapped persons and their aid, families
taught how to interact with their mentally challenged
kid, we need to be in the picture to help materialize
the vision of and take part in efforts of SSS. 

Abhyday talk about Book Bank - In Narendrapur, West
Bengal. Provide books and some school supplies to
children who are unable to purchase books in order to
go to school. Books usually reused over the years
whenever possible. Recurring expenses. We have regular
donors who donate for particular projects.

Our first event.. Cricket? 
Cricket Club going through change of officers.
Transition period probably not good for them to host a
tournament until Spring. 

Badminton Tournament - 
Prachi to reserve Ramsey court. End of October or
Early November
Badminton Club - Sara will contact them and see what
their view is on this event.
Puja knows someone in the Cricket club who has many
friends in Georgia Tech and GSU. Possibly, we can
later on collaborate with other schools and do a major
Cricket tournament. Puja to find out more on that. 

Visiting the school. Fix the date and time. (Devaki).
Special Program. Oglethorpe and Gaines school. Devaki
to find out a generally good time of the day for the
program and email the group about it. We will
coordinate by email to decide on a date to go visit.
Hopefully in October.

Order Diyas - Sara to send out an email on
Asha-Chapter coords asking if someone is coming from
India and can bring diyas for Athens

Charity Dinner + Auction? Fall event? More planning
next meeting. Keep an eye out for items eligible for
auctioning off. 

ARC poll-
Sara will send out the document and poll link for
volunteers to read the document. Discuss in the next
meeting. 

Signing the chapter registration form (since we have
new volunteers holding different posts). DONE.

Regular meetings: 6:30pm, Tuesday. Every other week,
unless it is close to an event and we need to meet
more frequently or on another random day. Prachi to
reserve a room in SLC.
