Project Title:      INSEED- Muktangan

Project Description:
The goal of this project is to support Muktangan, a non-formal education centre run by Indic Society for Education and Development (INSEED). Muktangan has a literacy centre for alternative education, toy and book library, and other activity centres for children at Nashik. Main focus of these centers has been to create awareness towards importance of literacy, and further help individuals to enroll them in regular schools (day boarding or residential school, depend upon the family circumstances). Also education on English, basic mathematics, science, cleanlinees and hygiene is provided.

Project Title:      Jeevan Gnanodaya

Project Description:
Jeevan Gnanodaya School for the Deaf and Mentally retarded is a wing of the Jeevan Gnanodaya Charitable Trust. It has been functioning in Chengalpattu since 1989. The schools shelters and educates deaf,speech-impaired and mentally retarded children from poor, rural backgrounds. When children are admitted their hearing level is determined and they are given the hearing aid equipment necessary for them.

Project Title:      Nishtha

Project Description:
Nishtha is a project based in the remote village Baikunthapur of South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, India. Nishtha has started running a school for children of sex workers in the Baruipur red light are and also provide night shelter, food and health facilities to these unfortunate children.The objective of this program is to make the children of sex workers well equipped with adequate knowledge, information, training and education.

Project Title:      Kalyania- Prayas Center

Project Description:
This project is to support a prayas center for special education and vocational training for children of the deprived in Kalyani, West Bengal.The key objectives are holistic education for deprived children living by the river bank or ghettoes; empowerment of women and children through non-formal and vocational education and training; health care for children, women, the old in the community deprived financially, psychologically or both; to build a life support system for the gerent logically advanced; and strong health care for the outreach where the public sector health care module is unable to reach.

Project Title:      Gram Vikas Trust

Project Description:
This programme distribute bicycles to needy girl students in remote villages in Gujarat, India in collaboration with Gram Vikas Trust.

Project Title:      INSPIRATION : Bridging The Divide

Project Description:
The programme intends to adopt a bi pronged approach : <1> Accelerated Reading : Exposing children, in general, to the world of books and subsequently enhancing their reading and comprehension capabilities <2> Bridging the curricular gap : Identifying not going-to-school children and mainstreaming them through a bridge course syllabus Partnership with Asha Atlanta Chapter started in 2010 with a backup coaching and basic skill development programme for 100-125 children in the slums of Kamarhati.

Project Title:      Vidya and Child

Project Description:
Currently, a Quality of Education Improvement project is supported by Asha-Wide Intiaitive. In 2010, a Non Formal School Programme is supported led by Vidya and Child. The merits of non formal school programme: (a) It builds a strong foundation for the child so that the child can aspire to finish school education and go in for higher education. (b) Learning is facilitated thrugh various activities rather than being based in rote. (c) The child is exposed to various activities other than academics like art & craft, kathak, tabla, music, computers

Project Title:      Bhagavathula Charitable Trust

Project Description:
This project is aimed at generating self-employment in 100 villages through providing meaningful training program to 400 hundred young adults enabling them to be self-sufficient and remain in their villages, thereby generating confidence. Youth from 100 nearby villages will be gathered and trained in skills that would assist them in becoming self-reliant.

Project Title:      Prayas Centre for Special Education and Vocational Training

Project Description:
The project strives to provide education, health care and nutritional support to children with special needs through the Integrated School and Community Based Rehabilitation Programme. Prayas' novel approach of inclusive education for all children - challenged and non-challenged children - encourages learning and interaction that has truly worked wonders.

Project Title:      Trinita Society for Social Education and Health Research

Project Description:
The motivation for starting the group was inspired by the need to help of poor people living in the slums the appalling conditions of health and education in the slums of Kolkata, Howrah and neighboring areas. The aims of this group has been to promote all round sustainable alternative development process through bottom up approach, ensuring target group participation and social security for healthy and meaningful life.

Also, Atlanta Supports a support-a-student program (currently 5 students) and a vocation training program in collaboration with Cross-Stitch Project
