Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. Asha has supported more than 800 different child education projects allover India. Asha has disbursed nearly $15,000,000 to projects in last 16 years. In 2008 alone, Asha chapters raised and disbursed more than $3,000,000 to over 300 projects. Hello again! Firstly, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution towards helping me raise funds for 'Asha for Education' through the Atlanta Marathon Training program last year. With your help, I raised $1300 for Asha for Education and managed to finish my marathon in 4.06 hours. I couldn't be happier!
Inspired, impressed and rejuvenated with your support, I am taking on a challenge.. again! I am running the New Orleans (Rock and Roll) marathon on February 13, 2011 with a goal to finish the marathon in less than 3 hours and 45 minutes. Having upped the ante on my running, I am doing the same with my fund-raising goal. We (my wife Anu & I) want to raise atleast $2,500 for Asha for Education with every penny going towards educating underprivileged children in India. This time, all funds will be donated to Trinita , a NGO based out of Kolkota & supported by Asha, supporting 920 children in more than 70 centers throughout West Bengal, India ( Asha Project Page Link)

Who is Team Asha ?
Team Asha is working with Asha for Education, a non-profit organization that finances the educational needs of underprivileged children in India. With other chapters across the country, Asha has disbursed over $4 million in aid to orphanages, preschools, and women’s shelters in the last few years.
