Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. Asha has supported more than 800 different child education projects allover India. Asha has disbursed nearly $15,000,000 to projects in last 16 years. In 2008 alone, Asha chapters raised and disbursed more than $3,000,000 to over 300 projects. I started running to stay fit, meet new people and to complete a marathon within this lifetime. It is has been fun exploring Atlanta on the streets with the enthusiastic people in Asha group. I feel proud to be associated with Asha and running the Atlanta Half Marathon for a cause - educating underprivileged children in India. It is inspiring to realize that I have the potential to bring change in India by providing education to these kids.
