The Team

We are Team Asha Atlanta. We started this venture in 2006 and we've grown ever since. In the past 4 years, we raised 68,000 dollars all of which was spent towards children's education in India. We are a group of people assembling every year who train together for 3-4 months to run the Atlanta Full or Half Marathon. Our goal is to raise funds together as a team for underpriviledged children in India. We aspire to make a difference, all the while accomplishing a goal that we will remember for a lifetime. Every year, most of the team are novice runners and become advanced together as a team. We also have repeat runners every year who become mentors for our beginning runners. We do this together as a team and the camaraderie of our team is something we cherish. View our video about our team and the cause below.

The Task

We will be running the Atlanta Marathon/Half Marathon on Thanksgiving day. This is an olympic course and running it is an accomplishment we will be proud of. We set personal fundraising goals beyond a minimum to help the cause. The full Marathon will start outside Turner Field in downtown Atlanta and the half marathon will start on Peachtree Rd. (just north of Clairmont Rd. intersection) within walking distance of Chamblee MARTA station. The complete program details are available at the Atlanta Track Club website.
