1) GSK discussion and decision
Tracking project and setting up an evaluation matrix for the different
coordinators and
outreach program critical. We  would like them to come up with the
matrix that can be used,
but to set such quantitative goals.

When we support the academic coordinator we would expect him to be focussed on
that activity and not spend substantial time in things like
fundraising for the aspects of
the program we are not completely convinced, e.g. the outreach coordinator.

There was some question of how much the office in the city is to
contribute to the
successful functioning of the school. But, it was decided that since
this is a one time
investment and the organization is just getting started it may be a
worthwhile investment
in the long term. However, the numbers available are still rough
estimates and we would
like to track what the final numbers come to.

The project is expected to provide audited financial reports.

It was decided to go with the previous vote of sending them $6k
through Bodh till Feb
and look for other sources of funding for the remainder of the project.
Sanjeev to approach NYCNJ
Murali to approach Seattle

2) Sandeep and Nandlal are visiting Austin. They are being invited by
Indian Friends Association in collaboration with Asha and AID. They
are coming to present the challenges being faced by communities they
work in and around Mahandiganj with regards to the Coke factories
unethical practices there. The question was if we would like to co
sponsor the event.

It was decided to co-sponsor the event as we would for any development
person from India working with the communities we work with and
presenting the realities faced by them. The goal is to bring up the
facts and we are confident that Nandlal and Sandeep have come to
present just that.

3) Marathon
We have a pasta dinner coming Friday. We should talk about our
projects and ask ppl if they would like to pick a specific project to
fundraise for.

4) International registration
Asha as an org is going for international registration. This will help
international chapters ramp up faster and allow for better accounting
of the treasury. There have been some small chapters that started and
folded and this process is supposed to help in making sure the money
can be reverted into asha central.
The question that came up was that when AID became an Inc they were
unable to accept credit card donations/donations for 3 months or so.
This should not happen since our fundraising continues over the entire
period of a year.
