* Overview
* Asha-Austin's invovlvement : Started in Fall 2003.
* Plan to include midday meals with Day-school to encourage kids.
* Last years SAC proposal (apart from mid day meals) = Rs.281000/-
(disbursed as of first July 2005)
* As of now : Only 51 out of 130 are supported.
* Low on volunteers and donors .So, we need more people coordinators/donors.
* As of now money collected for 50 ppl was enuf for 100.
* A requirement of Rs.58550/- has been put for 6 rooms
* We need to find more details regarding the village : Telephone
facilities,etc.As of now , we have only one contact..
* On a long term, getting a phone line , a computer + scanner for
Tiwari would be helpful (A better support)
* Sanjeev plans to visit the site during his next visit to India.
* Contact SKI..Temporary help in India. Ask/Find someone to help in India.
* Recheck the budget of current year for minimum wages....
Enquire further about the number of hours required to complete each job.
* Check the cost /salary of a teacher in this part of the village.
* The school may also be a vocational center.NO water issues , so far.
* Tiwari's daughter volunteered to teach sewing :) ; No need for teacher.
* Cooking will be volunterred by community people there.
* Starting from October , we NEED to take responsibility for all the 130 kids.
* Try getting a phone line - to talk to the kids :)
* Get more details about " Books and other neccessities for 130
students @ 700p.a".What kinds of books are needed?
* We need to get donors for this project by October , if we need to
support them next year.
* We need to Encourage Donors to DONATE Online.

1. SAC project is expensive.So,how long can the building wait?Is 130
important or is building more important
Vinod's suggestion : include building cost with child's education.

1. Work an budget to support the "Support a Child" program.
2. ICC : Vinod needs to remind Ruchika to send a mail to Indian
community mailing list for Support a Child.
3. ICC : Plan on material for ICC - Table / Stall / 5 minute talk /
Donation box / Handling cheques....
4. Send sample mail find/help find donors for this project to
Jindhal(Sriraman's friend).
5. Clarify if DELL can help us in finding donors for this project.
6. Encourage Donors to DONATE Online.
7. Find more details regarding the village : Telephone

8. For SAC : Profiles may need to be updated.
9. Contact SKI..Temporary help in India as we have just one contact

We have 6k that has been already collected , 9k more has to be
collected as 15k is needed.

"SUPPORT A CHILD" : For Disadvantaged girls in 3-18 yrs age group.
* Finances for 03-04 discussed.
* Total expenses is Rs.624000/-
* Social context of the girls who join this place : Abandoned
kids,kids are taken back sometimes.
* Kids are willing to go back and support their family
* Kids usually like site visits
* Achievements and Challenges faced by the kids in PJ (2 Kids having
problem in PJ...may be bcoz of background)
* Ravi visiting PJ can talk about Sumithra's support with her eyesight
* Sundari mammi coordinates with the donors sometimes....extremely accessible
* Kids need help with tution and after-school tutoring .
* Excellent perforamance from a few kids....
* Site visit by Rajiv.Comments - "healty and hygenic"
* Rajiv is willing to SAC
* Rajiv can keep in touch with Sundari mammi directly so that he can
directly interact with them.
* Current number of kids supported is 18 (including sumithra and rekha)
* We need $2160 in August/Sept.We have $1080 already
