Minutes of Asha meeting Feb 19 2005.

Round of introduction + activities of Asha Austin.
 
CLT Discussion.
Concerns:
a) Do we want to be a part of a large project with many chapters?
b) Is this only for one year?
c) Why a bus? why not setup the experiments in each village or shared
between neighboring villages?
d) Why not wait until we realise what happens to the youth after their
education?
e) Not comfortable funding an extension of the main work, until we've
seen the results of the central work.
f) It seems like in all likelihood that it will be a one time project
for Asha Austin
g) They seem to be doing this because they can, and maybe their
resources are better spent elsewhere.
h) Maybe suggest that we would be better interested in a project which
furthers the work in Jakkur.
i) It encourages kids to come to school since it has community
programs ets. It will definitely improve the te quality of 1-5
grade. The CLT involvement is better than govt. mid-day meal schemes.
j) The group seems sincere and very good. We should try to figure out
if we can work with them for a different project. Its great that they
have volunteers who are doing quality work.
k) Science and computer skills for 1--5 may not be really required.
If they worked with high school kids, it might be better.
l) Keep in touch with this group and project, and figure out how this
project goes, and also if the group has more projects.

Odanadi Seva Samsthe Discussion.
Smitha presented the project. We will direct all of Smitha's marathon
funds towards the bldg. cost. Also, check with Asha-SV regarding what
they decided, and suggest Odanadi as a SAC project to AKS. Details of

Srishti Special Academy Discussion postponed.

We will continue fundraising until Mar 13th.
We should do the program on our own next time around.
