2) Marathon
update and discussions.
This year
we have 52 runners this year
6 Ð Ultra
Marathoners
9 Ð
marathoners
4 Ð Motive
half-marathoners
33 Ð
Half-marathoners for AT&T/3M
The number
of runners last year was 16. Rogue had come forward to let asha runners to
participate in their programs for only $25. The number this year is much larger
than anticipated either by us or by Rogue. Rogue has been facing a big
financial crunch due to the large number of runners and has expressed their
inability to continue to program with the cost.
We worked
through the numbers and decided that we can support another $1300 to Rogue.
These funds would come from ashaÕs admin expenses as we cannot to ask our
runners to give another $25 in the middle of the program.
Since
minutes are open to general public, RogueÕs internal finances are not mentioned
in these minutes. Please contact any of the volunteers who attended the meeting
to understand the reasoning for the above decision.
It was
decided that we should communicate to Rogue that starting next year we should
pick an amount that we can cover the coaches required meeting in July with
Rogue.
We have
also received a deal with Brooks to get a relatively cheap T-shirt. Plain
T-shirts are $6 and with print they could be around $10. We however do not have
our happy yellow color and we had only choice between Blue, Black, White, Red,
Gray.
Blue Ð 1
Red Ð Rest
Yellow Ð1
We will go
with the red T-shirts.
We went
over the present logo. The feedback was:
-
The
team asha logo should be bigger
-
The
swipe looks like a cola logo and people didnÕt like it
