Show Of Hope
Sais' presentation:
- When we started discussions on the event, the idea was to get a lot
of folks who were not
regulars at meetings to contribute in some way. We were successful in doing
that
- Get many vols to grow in terms of what they don't normally do and
take leadership roles.
- Create cohesion in the group
- Improve visibility and got the name of Asha out.
- We got a lot of networking and got many folks interested.
- Get new volunteers - a few of them are interested in getting involved.
- Interacting with people and sponsors to create awareness about
Asha's efforts.
- Volunteers developed a lot of skills and could also talk to many
folks about Asha.
Gayathri's experience :
- Was an opportunity for her to contribute to Asha given her time
constraints etc.
Itisha's :
- Make everyone involved - participants, judges and audience. Be
courteous and create a nice environment for everyone involved.
Feedback
- Probably a walkie-talkie would have helped.
- Could have made the event a lil' bit lower in cost.
- Project posters
- No. of vols near poster boards were less.
- Emphasizing that ppl can come early and know about projects.
- need to emphasize on projects a lot.
- Project videos and asha videos
- Rehearsal would have helped
- Kids competing for prizes and feeling too much pressure.
- Avoid the fierce kind of competition. Idea and motive should be
to be more inclusive and not to eliminate.
- Dealing with judges
- No need for 'American Idol' kind of judge criticism of
participants in front of all audience
- They took quite a bit of time.
- Volunteers being called on stage
- Be careful in making sure we are inclusive.
