The show will be held on April 24, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Wheeler Auditorium, on the UC Berkeley campus. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show will begin at 7 PM sharp. Dil Se, Cal's very own South Asian a cappella team, will also be performing.

PENN MASALA
Penn Masala is the world's first and premier Hindi a cappella group, formed in 1996 by a group of students at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the last decade, Penn Masala has spread the popularity of Hindi a cappella music abroad by performing for sold-out crowds in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago , Boston, Houston, and Philadelphia. The upcoming concert is the first time Penn Masala has performed in the Bay Area in seven years, so it’s not an event to miss!
ASHA FOR EDUCATION
Asha for Education is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting socio economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children. It was founded at UC Berkeley in 1991 and has since spread internationally to include 66 chapters worldwide. Asha for Education is an entirely volunteer driven organization and 100% of all proceeds go towards grassroots education projects. At Asha Berkeley, we are currently supporting 8 different projects and disburse about $30,000 annually. All of the proceeds from the concert directly benefit our education projects in India.
For more than a decade, Asha for Education has managed to live up to the dreams of its founders and demonstrated that it is possible for a few dedicated individuals to improve the lives of many others to a great extent, and make the world a better place to live in. Our success is evident from the studies of Charity Navigator, an independent organization evaluating the performance of more than 5000 charities world wide, has ranked us the Best Charity in the world.
