Work an Hour (WAH) 2007: July 4th- September 5th Theme: Stop Child Labor We need to flyer for WAH: Berkeley and South Bay – Naz, Taste of Himalayas, etc etc E-flyer is ready. Paper flyer is still being worked on Barnali suggests looking into a spot on KPFA (also a good idea for IOI) Also look into KQED Is San Francisco chapter going to help with publicity Libraries also a good place to flyer at Talk about WAH for the next meeting Sandipan volunteers to look at child labor statistics and present them 2. Labor day? Memorial day? Veteran’s day? President day is most promising Anil is the main contact for this venture 5. Asha Wide E-Groups Get Anitha on Asha Fundraising – for post IOI options Get Ann on that group also Publicity coordinator Did Kavita volunteer? If she is the contact person, then add er to the Publcity yahoo group Projects Working Group: Bala is on them Anand and Urmila will also join and provide summaries to the rest of the group Need someone to attend conference calls Bala will link the group Other Groups: Asha Wide – General e-mails about upcoming events Asha Treasurers – Urmila needs to get on that Asha Health Care – Strategies on implementing health care projects. Lots of discussion but not so much implementation. Forster is on the group. Ann is interested in joining Asha Focus Groups –example: Sanctuary – Children at risk Can pursue a specific interest/topic in detail 6. General Announcement Anybody (Indian Citizen) can file a Right to Information Petition – even from the US Can be a tool for Project Stewards for things such as FCRA clearance |
