| Description:Project Igatpuri run by an NGO, Aseema, aims to provide a holistic education, an interesting and caring learning environment, and help under-served children of tribal people acquire the skills and confidence to succeed in real life. Phase 1 of the project is the development and construction of an education center to serve about 300 children. Phase 2 of the project will involve water harvesting and solar-panel based renewable energy sourcing in an effort to integrate education and rural development. |

| Project:AHEAD School for mentally challenged and autistic children, Kolkata, West Bengal |

| Description: The project runs a special school for the mentally challenged children. Currently, the construction of a four-story school on government land has been undertaken. The organization also organizes sports, competitions, and enterprenuer development programs for mentally handicapped students. |

| Description:Sshrishti offers a holistic education in a caring environment to address the particular problems of the children of the migrant laborers, who come to Delhi to make a living. The goal of the project is to introduce the children the joys of learning and help them in becoming responsible, and self- sufficient individuals. In addition to formal teaching the school also provides computer classes, books, uniforms and mid-day meals, organizes sports days and excursions to the zoo. Since it's inception in 2003, the two centers have served over 250 children. |

| Description: Sreenarayana Sevika Samajam seeks to give a home to those who would otherwise have none. A atmosphere of a large family prevails in the orphanage. The residents of Sreenaryana Sevika Samajam attend local schools. |
| Shilpa Society for the Mentally Handicapped |

| Description: The Shilpa society school is founded and run by Dr. Premila, whose 11 year old child has passed away as she suffered from mental disabilities and heart problems. Currently, the school educates 160 children with mental disabilities ranging from 3 years to 40 years. The school also has physio therapy and speech therapy to assist children with various disabilities. In addition to providing education to the children, Shilpa society also organizes free workshops for the parents in the community about the importance of early intervention and detection. The ultimate aim of the school is to train these children to be independent. Hence, the school offers vocational training in making paper covers, candles, fruit juices and greeting cards. |

| Description: The school serves the children of musahar community with ages from 3-10 whose parents are below the poverty line. The parents of mushar communities are laborers who work in brick laying business and also rear pigs. The children usually carry payload helping their parents. |

| Description: The Asha School run by WAYSSS was started to get child labourers in the nearby quarry back into school. Most of the residents are poor Muslims who are farmers or employed as daily laborers in quarry work. Currently, the school has 60 students. |

| Description: Sevalaya is an established non-profit organization, that has been working in the Kasuva village area for over 19 years to provide absolutely free education - including books and uniforms - to economically disadvantaged children whose families cannot even afford to send them to Government schools. Sevalaya also runs an orphanage, old age home, medical facility, library and a goshala (cow shelter) for the community. Asha is providing Sevalaya with funds to buy and distrbute notebooks for 1000 children. Asha Berkeley is the stewarding chapter, and Asha Silicon Valley is funding the project through the Inter Chapter Funding Process. |
