Rakesh Srivastava's Runner Profile
Our 8 yr old daughter has been supporting a few charities over the last 3 yrs. Her favorite charities are those that support children. This year, she is in the middle of doing her second fund raiser for challenged kids.
Inspired by her and with help from friends, we wanted to do something more substantive for kids separate from our daughter’s effort. Supporting basic education for kids has been a cause dear to our hearts for over 10 yrs. A friend introduced us to ‘Asha for education’ program in the beginning of this year. The program funds basic education for disadvantaged kids in India. . See
http://www.ashanet.org/centralnj/projects/projects.htm for more information on the supported projects
Will appreciate if you can join us in supporting this program by making your contributions while I run my first marathon in Philadelphia on Nov 20’ 2011 (Sunday) in support of this cause.
It’ll make the event more meaningful and memorable for us .
It has taken 5 months of training , 700 Kms of running and 3 niggling injuries to be here. The 26.2 mile journey will be worth every mile with your support.
Look forward to catching up with you after the Philly Marathon. Cheers!
