Asha
for Education is an international
non-profit organization committed to
providing basic education for
underprivileged children in India in the
belief that education is a critical
requisite for socio-economic change.
Till date, Asha has supported more than
385 different child education projects
spanning 24 states in India. In terms of
project funding, almost $4,000,000 has
been disbursed to these projects since
Asha's inception. In 2002 alone, Asha
chapters raised and disbursed more than
$1,000,000 to over 200 projects.

Mphasis CSR Initiative's Runner Profile
Dear Mphasians,
We would like to support and help raise funds for “Asha for Education’s Marathon Program”. Asha for Education is dedicated to providing education to underprivileged children in India. Formed in 1991, Asha for Education today has 66 chapters worldwide – 45 in the US, 14 in India and 7 across Europe, Singapore and Australia. These 66 chapters support over 350 education projects for underprivileged kids, fully supported only by volunteers – so you know every penny donated goes straight to the cause.
The Marathon Program is one of the biggest fund raising campaigns of Asha for Education. The program has anywhere from 5 to 20 runners every year, running to raise funds for the good cause. Asha for Education has certified marathon coaches that train these runners, run as groups over the weekend, provide water/Gatorade and above all the mindset it takes to run the 26.2 mile marathon.
This year, 2 of our own – Jeetesh Khatwani and Rakesh Srivastava from the HP MU Sales Team, are running their first Full Marathon in support of Asha for Education. They both have been rigorously training for over 4 months to run the Philadelphia Full Marathon.
We, as Mphasians, would like to cheer them on, and support them as well as Asha for Education, and have set a fund raising goal of $10,000. We would appreciate the support and contribution from each and every one of you for this great cause.
