Asha for Education was founded with the objective of bringing about socio-economic change by means of providing education.

It is interesting to note that since its inception in 1991, Asha has supported 244 different projects in many states in India, disbursing $1.5 million in funds. Perhaps, more important than these numbers is the personal leadership that the volunteers take in carrying out Asha's activities. They bring hope ('asha') to the underpriviledged children in India
