Financial Reports -- 2002-03

For the first time in the history of Asha Chennai we audited our own accounts. In the past we just gave the vouchers and receipts to Asha India coordinators in Lucknow. This year since there were significant number of transactions we decided to audit the accounts of the Asha Chennai chapter here in Chennai and roll in the results into Asha India's audit reports. This was a major step for all of us. It was accomplished with the dedicated work of several volunteers.

In this page we have included the reports from the auditor as well as an annual report we ourselves have generated. The report from the auditor does not view the account in terms of projects. It also distinguishes foreign currency contributions to our expenses from local contributions. All these make it fairly arcane reading for the lay person. Our annual report gives overall balances as well as project-wise income and expenditure in a more easily readable format.
