Education to us is not limited to "schooling" or "literacy". It is a process of building awareness in society as a whole. This forms the underlying principle of our relationship with our projects. Our projects deal with diverse areas such as non-formal education, mainstream schooling, vocational training, social needs of children, building alternative infrastructure and/or educational models, community-based intervention programs, health care and more. Education is a paradigm of constant learning, of looking around us and remolding the society on the basis of this learning process. Education becomes less meaningful as an isolated provision. We believe that education is one of the prerequisites for bringing about change; and in order to bring about change it needs to be developed in association with other factors such as nutrition, shelter, health care, income generation, public policy, governance, etc. [Read more...]

    A proposal to ensure Quality Education for Every Child Proposed by Balaji Sampath
    The proposal presents the learning quality problem, their broad solution to the problem and the quantitative and qualitative results that have been acheived so far. It also contains the specific proposal for Vellore District (which is one of the poorest districts as well as one of the worst districts in education standards in the state), followed by the timelines, specific deliverables and expected impact with measures and the budget.
