Featured Project - Navjyoti

The nimble hands of the kids who weave the world famous Benaras Sarees' grab a pencil and a slate under trees and petromax lamps in an effort to attain something traditionally beyond their reach : education.

The organization provides primary education in 2 main centers and non-formal education in about 8 centers. The organization also runs vocational training centers and supports various social causes. Asha Chicago provides support for teachers' salaries, training and school supplies.

  • Eureka Quality Improvement Program Tamilnadu (EQUIP) (September 2007)

    A proposal to ensure Quality Education for Every Child Proposed by Balaji Sampath
    The proposal presents the learning quality problem, their broad solution to the problem and the quantitative and qualitative results that have been acheived so far. It also contains the specific proposal for Vellore District (which is one of the poorest districts as well as one of the worst districts in education standards in the state), followed by the timelines, specific deliverables and expected impact with measures and the budget.
