Project Guidelines
Project Approval Process:
Project proposal is first
reviewed by the projects group, and when approved, proposal is presented in Asha
meeting.
An Asha member volunteers to
be the Project Steward.
Project Steward
Guidelines:
- Familiarizes themselves
with the project and finds answers to questions raised in the Asha meeting.
- Try and get the project
approved in Asha meeting as soon as possible, when a majority of members are
present.
(A
majority of members is 2/3 the active members.
An active member is taken as someone who has attended atleast one of the
previous 3 Asha meetings).
- Maintains a record (soft
or hard copies) of all material pertaining to the project.
- Maintains contact with
the project contact in India.
- Ensure that funds are
sent to the project from the chapter (bug the treasurer in case she forgets).
- Prepare material like
posters and photos for use during events.
- Put relevant material in
the files section on cinciasha_core.
- The project steward also
coordinates site visits (Site visits are required before the chapter can
approve projects).
- Please remind the chapter
coordinator or project coordinator to update information on Asha-wide
database, if it is not there.
- Project steward finds out
about the status of the project.
- Initiate meetings for the
project if necessary.
- If project steward is
leaving Asha-Cincinnati, please pass along all relevant information to the
next project steward such that the transition is smooth.
Other info related to Project Steward and Project Group:
- Monthly meetings of all
project stewards and project committee members.
- Either the steward or the
project group to give updates (1-2mins) in Asha meeting following the group
meeting.
- All project group members
and project stewards should preferably be on Asha-pwg (Asha projects yahoo
group).
Miscellaneous:
1.
Chapter coordinator or Project coordinator should ensure that all projects are
on Asha database.
2.
Projects group to complete preliminary approval of all project proposals it
currently has and present them so that a decision on projects to fund can be
made ASAP.
