About ASHA Corvallis

Asha-Corvallis chapter was established in 1996 with the help of a few dedicated student volunteers at Oregon State University. The chapter is now mostly comprised of professionals living in Corvallis and surrounding areas. Asha, which means ‘hope’ in one of the languages in India, is a volunteer organization based in the United States and supports the basic education for underprivileged children in India. It is a secular organization with no political or religious affiliations. Members of Asha raise funds in the US and elsewhere and work with unpaid volunteers in India. Almost 100% of the funds raised reach the children. Personal connections between Asha members in the US and the volunteers in India guarantee the success of the implemented projects.
