Project Guidelines |
|
|
Asha
for Education D.C uses a set of guidelines to choose and fund projects.
The projects must relate to education and should have no political and religious
affiliations. The projects should cater to the educational needs of
the people in small towns and villages and should be of a self-sustaining
nature.
The project proposal must describe in detail, its objectives, plan of action, number of children covered, number of people involved in its implementation, an itemized budget, and any other relevant information. The organization(s) implementing the project(s) should clearly define the entire plan for those projects. The project must be planned, managed and sustained by the group itself with little outside help. The project must improve the general welfare of the community, emphasizing education related aspects. The benefits of the project must be fairly distributed and should reach a maximum number of children. The group
will be required to provide complete financial and narrative reports (and
photographs, if possible) on the progress of the project, when requested
by Asha for Education D.C (not more than 4 times a year).

Monitoring Projects in India |
|
|
Members of Asha for Education attempt to maintain a close personal involvement with the organization and the projects that are sponsored. Members of the group bring with them slides or pictures and other status information related to the project during their visits to India. Since we now have volunteers in India, we have a direct way of monitoring these projects and obtaining regular, consistent and up-to-date feedback on the activities. Asha for Education releases funds committed to a project on a mutually agreed upon schedule (with the organization carrying out the project). The commitment and release of funds to the organization are tied in with periodic progress and status reports submitted by the organization. Asha for Education may stop funding the project at any time if circumstances warrant it. |
