Minutes:
Dear Friends,
We have started our Summer session. I have put a page for our Summer meetings
schedule on the web. And these are the minutes of the first meeting .
- Prathap, Shuddha, Nitin Malhotra, Rajeev and Sowmya (and Mr.Saleel
Chowdhary) attened the meeting (Guys, this is a good sign that everyone
is trying to participate in the group activities)
- Sowmya gave us the conference updates-----
- She spoke to Pankaj and he feels that a separate bank account for us at
this stage is not suggested since we are a low budget chapter right now.
- The conference was very helpful to motivate the volunteers to work for the
cause
- There has to be a backup person to take care of the jobs and duties
- ----Then, we got our Newsletters ready to be mailed (the paper copies,
which had to be folded and stamped)
- There was an issue of fund raiser for this year and Mr.Saleel
Chowdhary pops intoo the meeting at that time nd gave his proposal of a
fundraiser for Asha Delaware cohosted by Indo Americam Assosiation
- ----- This is his proposal--- He is going to get few Amateur local artists
to perform in Mitchell Hall. The event is going to be a joint effort and the
funds raised after the investments will be given to Asha.
- Some of our cocerns were.... Do we need to tie up with another
organization this time becasue this is going to create a communication
problem and it is going to be an experiment again-----is Asha going to
benefit from this event?? Swarasandhya was a big event last year and it has
drawn the attention of lot of people including people like Nitin, Rajeev,
Saleel chowdhary and so on. So, Evrybody please try to respond to this mail
as we are going to see those artists perform next week
- Speaking of fund raiser, I have a proposal of Shobhana's Dance. Will this
be a good idea? Please raise your opinion on this too.
This ends the meeting. Friends, it was really great to see people from other
sections of the Indain community (other than students I mean) are very
enthusiatic about Asha Delaware. In this meeting their attendence was 50%. It is
really a very good sign and we welcome more of you to come and join us.
Thank you,
Prathap Pasuparthi
