Minutes Of Meeting 9 January 2005

Date of Meeting: 09-01-2005.
Venue of Meeting: #5,M-1 Street, IIT Delhi Campus, Hauz Khas, New Delhi -110 016 .
Attended by : Shiv Mathur, Ravi, Sangeeta, Rohini, Pavan, Ravi Shankar, Goel Uncle, 

                       Pradyot, Chanda, Arvind, Seshadri Kiran, Sanjay.

Monthly pledge scheme update:

1. Shiv Mathur will be visiting Saakshar on 12th Jan. Goel Uncle and Sanjay plan to join him. Alka Arora  from  Asha Boston  also plans to join them.

2. Through Goel Uncle's effort, we have 7 new donors contributing to MPS.

3. Shiv Mathur suggested that we give in kind: Both Shiv Mathur and Pavan  have donated notebooks.

4. Keep records for all  the donation we make in kind.

5. It was also suggested that we should ask Lipika to attend one of the meetings and give us an update about the project. We also need to get a six-monthly report from Saakshar. Shiv Mathur to talk to Lipika about this.

6. Ravi will send an update about the MPS. At a quick glance it looks like we will be able to support the project till at least April.

7. As our donor base increases, we will try to support other activities of Saakshar. At present we are supporting the teacher's salary. If donations increase, we will try to support the Mid-day meal
scheme.

8. Goel Uncle suggested that we try to collect Rs. 100/- month from more people and thus expand the MPS scheme.

Bank Account:

9. If our donor database increases, then a bank account may become necessary. Ravi to find out from Sandeep the modalities of opening an account in Delhi.

Desktop calendar:

10. It was felt that desktop calendar might not be very effective. Instead Arvind suggested that we print a brochure. Rohini to send materials to Arvind who will get it printed.

Internship Program:

11. Sanjay to be the contact person for Internship Program in Delhi. Rohini to put him in touch with Hansa Shah.

Calander sales:

12. We have sold 100 calendars. all proceeds were given to Saakshar.

Website:

13. Pradyot to update the web site. Contact information to be added on
the main page. Link to projects in Delhi.

Projects:

14. Arvind has envinced a desire to work closely with a project. He is to contact the chapters supporting projects in Delhi and work out the modalities with them. He will also join the asha projects e groups.
