Rules for Asha Math Fest
  1. Participants are encouraged to register online. Asha for Education reserves the right to limit on-site registration due to potential space restrictions.

  2. The registration fee will not be refunded. If a participant withdraws from a contest after registering, the registration fee can be considered as a tax-deductible donation to Asha for Education.

  3. Asha for Education reserves the right to verify the age and grade of participant(s). Asha for Education reserves the right to annul prize(s) and certificate(s) awarded in case of discrepancy.

  4. The Rockets category is open to students up to and including 8th grade.

  5. The Supersonics category is open to students up to and including 5th grade.

  6. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are not allowed in the Supersonics category. Attempts by 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to participate in Supersonics category will lead to disqualification.

  7. Students in 5th grade and below can register and participate in the Rockets category.

  8. Parents of participants in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades should ascertain that their child is not participating in the Supersonic category meant for 5th grade and below.

  9. Participants should be present at the competition venue at the specified time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate in the competition. Asha for Education suggests arriving at the competition venue 15 minutes prior to the specified time.

  10. All writing material will be provided to the participants. Participants should not enter the competition area with personal writing or reference material.

  11. Participants are not allowed to use Calculators in the competition.

  12. Any form of assistance to the participant by parents or others accompanying the participant during competition will lead to participant disqualification.

  13. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner conducive to smooth progress of the competition. Disturbance caused by participants that could potentially be disruptive to the competition will lead to participant disqualification.

  14. Parents and others accompanying the participants are expected to not enter the competition area. They will be allowed to witness the Scoot Over part of the competition.

  15. Asha for Education reserves the right to a tie-breaker should it be necessary to reach a decision about participant ranking(s).

  16. Asha for Education reserves the right to declare joint winners should it be necessary to reach a decision about participant ranking(s).

  17. Competition judges chosen by Asha for Education will have the right to change rules of the competition without prior notice. The decision of the competition judges shall be final.

  18. All complaint(s)/dispute(s) regarding the competition should be submitted in writing to Asha for Education. Asha for Education will forward written complaints(s)/dispute(s) to the judges and communicate back the response from the judges. The decision of judges about the complaint(s)/dispute(s) will be final.

  19. Asha for Education reserves the right to takes photographs and videos for its non-commercial use.

  20. Photography (still or video) by participants, their parents, or others accompanying the participants is not permitted during the competition. Photography (still or video) will be allowed during awards ceremony.

  21. This competition is meant for having fun with mathematics while contributing to education of underprivileged children in India. It provides an opportunity for friendly competition through thinking on ones feet. Participants, their parents, and others who accompany the participants should remain focused on the fun and the giving aspects of the competition more than the results of the competition.

  22. This competition may not occur on the specified date and at the specified venue due to circumstances beyond the control of Asha for Education, in which eventuality, Asha for Education will attempt to hold the competition at a later date. In the event that the competition can not be held within a reasonable period of time, Asha for education will refund the fees to the participants who have paid. Asha for Education, its officers, and its volunteers are not responsible for any other loss or hardship caused to any person(s) or organization(s), in any form, as a result of the cancellation of the competition.

  23. Asha for Education reserves the right to cancel the competition if the number of registered participants is very low for the competition to be meaningful. Should the competition be canceled after registration, Asha for Education will refund the registration fees to those participants who have paid. Asha for Education, its officers, and volunteers are not responsible for any other loss or hardship caused to any person(s) or organization(s), in any form, as a result of the cancellation of the competition.

  24. Asha for Education is conducting this competition as one of its several fundraising activities. All proceeds of this competition will go towards socio-economic change in India through education of the underprivileged children. Asha for Education, its officers, and volunteers are not responsible for any loss or hardship caused to any person(s) or organization(s), in any form, as a result of this competition.
