Shikha heard about Asha from Aankanksha. Subodh learnt about Asha from general web search. Ramesh is a musician, given many concerts in us and Canada, been in the US for about 37 years. Part of many organizations. Kumuda: Walk for Education on October 19th, 11:00 am at Heritage Park $10 registration and $15 w/ T-Shirt Reach to different set of audience like family people. Kumuda and the team got to know Asha very recently. The team is very flexible right now to make changes to the event. Booked the shelter for 2 hrs which will cost $50. Shelter is where we will set up booth etc. Will go ahead with this event, needs to do lot of publicity. Publicize this event at India day. Form a corporate team to get more people involved. (Loud in content and encouraging speech) 11:15 am – Kick off the walk Have two tables, one for registration and other for pre registered people. Give certificates at the end of the walk or a band or a mug or a bookmark. Note that Muskaan has been presently receiving support from Ratan Tata Trust. Going forward, Rahul will still try to contact the coordinator in India. Rahul will most probably visit the project in December. We need to sort out if Asha's funding is really important for Muskaan. Can perform for us. - Played with Pandit Jasraj. And he can get Pt. Jasraj to perform here next year. Advice: Take an initiative and get recognition with major organizations in Metro-Detroit area. Pre registration- only 2 out of 8 teams showed up. Collect money ahead of time? Secure website – Sai. Food is an issue that we need to re assess Rahul: Need to re-look at the economics. Effort may not be commensurate with money raised. Introduce cricket next year. Deepak: Need to look at rules of the game. Vishy: Compare with other chapters on cost-benefit Damodar: Make a sports committee and have a good set of rules. Food: have a common plan throughout the year. Shubh: Need to learn to organize the event: At the registration booth, etc. Plan the event earlier than we started this time. Sridhar: Arguments are expected at the events. Get referees for the events. Cricket food supply: not much money raised for the effort. Srini: Set of people focused on sports. Food and drinks did get us good publicity. Siva: Worthwhile. As a new volunteer it was good exposure. Have as many events as we can. Annam: The events did not have a good Asha-talk. Need to have a plan for Asha presentation. For Asha Walk this should be the main point. Sai: Sub committee. Rules, referee and plan in place ahead of time. Have registration through the web.
