2. ARC Proposal (Tsunami Rehab)
The Sahanivasa Tsunami Rehabilitation Project was discussed. The
chapter overall agreed to the proposal. They wanted clarification on
the amount for Support for damaged houses (Rs 1500). What will this
cover? Can any house work be done with this small an amount? Srini will
clarify with the proposing chapter and vote accordingly?
3. India Day Parade (Aug 20, 9:30 AM)
Sai, Suchi, Deepak, Priya, Annam & Kannam will participate in the
India Day event at Novi on the 20th of Aug (9:30 to 11:00). Mani and
Latha will be asked for their availability.
4. Right to Education bill - and Action Item
Government has proposed to drop the Right to Education bill in the next
session.
Asha's response has been put forth through ARC.

Asha-Detroit approved the document.

5. Right to Information Bill
Sai talked about the Right to Information (RTI) Bill and how the
proposed amendment would affect the RTI process. For a background on

6. Shanti Sadhana Ashram Project
2006-07 budget for Rs. 317,760 was presented and approved. The main
items are listed below:
Some questions for SSA and Kumuda:
-- Compare with salaries with other schools in that area. What are the
teachers qualifications?
-- Why is the percentage of attendance in the low 60s in some of the
schools. What is the reason for variation in other places.
