Team Asha is a fundraising
program of Asha for Education that helps raise funds for Asha projects by
training runners for a marathon, half marathon or a relay marathon (5 members). More
than 500 men and women have successfully completed various marathons
and collectively raised more than $800,000 over the past six years
helping educate hundreds of young children.
The Detroit chapter Team Asha group has been active from 2003.
From Detroit more than 80 men and women have trained and taken
part in marathons in the past six years and raised more than $45,000.
Team Asha's marathon training program provides the necessary coaching
and support system to help both beginner and experienced runners
achieve their athlectic dreams and goals. Over 80% of our runners are
new to running or any form of endurance sports.
The training period lasts over a duration of 5 months
and includes weekday and weekend runs, stretching routines,
strength-speed-tempo training and comprehensive guidance from a
professional coach. Asha volunteers will work with you one-on-one to
guide you to your running and fundraising goals.
From Detroit chapter we train targeting the
Detroit Freepress Marathon (18th October) .
Its not enough
to be compassionate.
You must act.
