On October 3, 2009 - Asha for Education, eindhoven Chapter hosted
the annual fund raiser for the 7th consecutive year. The event was a
huge success. More than 225 guests attended the event.

2009 - ASHA-Eindhoven had change of guard and Saurin Choksi took
over from Jwalant Mishra as new coordinator. ASHA-Eindhoven had
change of address as well.

Our Annual Fundraising event Dandiya Raas was great success, more than 250 people
participated this year. they all enjoyed refreshing cultural experience
and the treat of delicious Indian food.

February 2007 - Asha Eindhoven signed donation agreement with ASML Foundation, which is supporting Project GATES (Girls Access to The Education in Science).

January 2007 - Jagruti Project - More than 135 underprevileged students got access to education in the vicinity of village Salarpur, Ghaziabad (UP). An article about the project progress and achievements has been published in Hindu magazine Nr.6 December 2006.

2006 - ASML Foundation accepted our project proposal for funding
GATES (Girls' Access to Education in Science) project. This
project involves building science lab rooms and equipping them with
instruments and other infrastructure.

2006 - Change of guard at Asha Eindhoven - Jwalant Kumar Mishra
has accepted the responsibilities of co-ordinator of Asha Eindhoven. We
wish him all the best.

Raas was a great success, more than 300 people participated this year.
They all enjoyed the treat of delicious Indian food.

August
2006 - Asha Eindhoven started a new project - Jagruti in
Uttar Pradesh state. This project is based on ideas similar to SSA
(Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) project of Government of India. The kickoff of
the project was very successful with more than 100 (school drop out)
kids joining the schools for continuing their education.

- Dyaan Deep - Gondegaon project is progressing at an amazing pace,
construction of new school building is almost complete. See our

Successful organisation of Sur Malhar - An evening of Indian
Classical Music on 6th May. Pt. Rajeev Taranath gave a splendid Sarod
performance during the concert.

2006 - Atos Origin Third World Development accepted our project
proposal of Gondegaon project "Dyaan Deep". They will co-fund
the construction effort for Gondegaon school together with Asha
Eindhoven.

2006 - Gondegaon project proposal submitted to Third World
Development funds of Atos Origin for co-funding of the project.

2006 - Asha Eindhoven has decided to fund one more project in a
small village called Gondegaon in Maharashtra state. See our project

2006 - 26th Jan 2006 - Stichting Asha
Eindhoven is three years old today. In the past three years we
have supported seven projects in different parts of India. See our
project page for all the details.

2005 - We have decided to fund project in remote
village of Orissa. More details of this project will soon appear on our
project page. We are investigating new projects proposals and possibility of fund
raising concert during the coming summer.

2005 - Our Akanksha project was finally open for students. Great effort
from our Asha Bangalore volunteers has made it possible to setup a lab with
10 computers. The lab is now operational and has lot of educational software
for the young kids to explore.

October 2005
- Its annual Dandiya time for Asha Eindhoven. This year we were overwhelmed
with the response to our event. More than 250 people had a great time
playing Dandiya. They all had a great treat with great Indian food. In the
process we also raised substantial funds for our projects in India.

- Asha Eindhoven fund raising event DHOOM was a great success.
More than 100 people enjoyed the evening dancing to the tunes of DJ Jogi.

March 2005 -
Computers for Akanksha project were procured from Philips in
Bangalore. Asha volunteers from our Bangalore chapter will now start working
towards setting up the facility in one of the local government school. See

Dec
2004 - One more project funded by Asha Eindhoven in Shivana, Madhya
Pradesh. Asha Eindhoven is participating in its global Tsunami Relief and Rehabilitation fund
collection.

has started working with Asha Bangalore volunteer's for a new project named Akanksha.

Kartavya project. Funds were transferred for establishing a library and book bank
for needy children.

An Evening of Indian Classical Music & Dance.An audience of more than 140 people enjoyed
the Sitar concert.

- Asha Eindhoven decided to fund 1800 Euros for Gokul
Residential School.
- Annual report for 2003 was published and distributed to all
our donors.

Oct 5th 2003 - Dandiya Raas -
With more than 120 participants, Asha volunteers managed to raise significant contribution to
Asha funds for education of under privileged children in India.

Bollywood Blast was successful with over 90 participants.

April 27th 2003 - Inauguration event for Asha
Eindhoven was successfully held on 27th April 2003 in De Bunker AOR Het Studentencafe, JF Kennedylaan Eindhoven.
The Guest of Honour was Ms. Heleen de Leeuw, founder of
Deepa Foundation, also a charity working in South India. The function was well attended with around 100 people
coming from as far as Nijmegen, Leuven, Amsterdam and Groningen.

First meeting of a bunch of friends located at Eindhoven, Netherlands when they decided to start a chapter of
Asha Worldwide in Eindhoven.
