Our Projects

Project Godavari
The goal of this project
GODAVARI was to provide school uniforms to
students and furniture to classrooms and office rooms in a
government school called Z.P. Oriental High School at Taderu.
The school is located in a village Taderu in the state of
Andhra Pradesh, India. Taderu is a small village with a
population of approximately 6000. Most of the villagers are
small farmers and daily-wage workers, who depend on
agriculture for their livelihood. The Z.P.Oriental High School
is a government school with strength of approximately 250
students and teaching staff of 12. Students come from nearby
villages within a distance of 6 kilometers. This project was
named after a river called Godavari that flows into the Bay of
Bengal at a place very close to this village.

1. School Uniforms
Most of the students did not have proper school
uniforms to wear as 90% of the population in the village comes
under “below poverty line”. The first requirement presented by
the school authorities was availing school uniforms to the
students, as provision of uniforms could definitely improve
the attendance of students. School uniforms were distributed
to all the students in the school. For boys, it was blue short
and white shirt and for girls, it was blue bottom and white
top.

2. Desks
The school had only benches for the students to
sit and there were no desks. A total of 48 desks were
furnished to meet the requirement in all the classrooms.

3.
Other
Furniture
The classrooms required chairs and tables for teachers. The
office room needed cupboards to store office books and
records. A total of 9 chairs, 6 tables and 2 iron bookracks
were furnished.
