We recently submitted proposals for Asha's annual Work An Hour (WAH) fundraiser. The following projects were submitted for consideration:

North: Helpline by Astha (Delhi) - focuses on providing information and counseling for people with disabilities (Proposal, More info)
East: Empowering the tribals (Manipur) - focuses on educating tribal children with disabilities (Proposal, More info)
South: Lead to light (Chennai, Tamil Nadu) - focuses on producing and circulating a multilingual magazine with Braille and audiotape versions (Proposal, More info)
West: Look ahead (Jaipur, Rajasthan) - focuses on providing equipment and software for computer training (Proposal, More info)
Centre: Sambhavna (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) - focuses on providing medical help to survivors of the 1984 Union Carbide disaster (Proposal, More info)
Three reasons to support Trigger
- Facilitates connected action for large scale impact eg. greater than 2260 disabled children will be impacted in the first year alone
- Demonstrates for the first time, disabled and tribal volunteers of Asha in leadership position eg. More than being funding agents, Asha volunteers inclusive of 4 visually impaired volunteers and 1 tribal volunteer, are actively driving projects for socioeconomic change in India
- Mainstreams the disabled, through sustainable solutions eg. empowering through education and employment generation
