  1. Mission should be to empower the disabled
  2. Site visit report is madatory to establish credibility well ahead: Is it a recognized body? Does this organization have a good reputation among the local community members?
  3. Project Steward (with commitment to give followup reports) must be identified
  4. Needs assessment to be done to verify needs: Is Asha the primary donor or does this organization have ways to get resources from other sources?
  5. Is the location in a remote or rural area?
  6. Greater focus on girls and women will be encouraged
  7. Small organizations will receive higher priority as opposed to well funded large organizations

ASHA FOR EDUCATION

Asha for Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to socio-economic change in India. We believe that education is a critical element of socio-economic change.

In keeping with this focus, our volunteers get involved in identifying, researching, owning, and sustaining projects that target basic education.
