Asha - Houston is the chapter
of Asha for Education in the Greater Houston area. Asha - Houston was started
in December 1998.
Its members consist of a diverse group,
comprising of students and professionals. The aim of the group is to involve
the communities in Houston area to collectively support and provide financial assistance to grass-root level educational movements in
India. Members of Asha - Houston attempt to maintain a close personal
involvement with the organizations and projects that are funded. The group is growing steadily.
We need more volunteers who can support
this noble cause, raise funds and assist them in becoming self sufficient. We encourage members to take up their own projects through the Asha Stars
program. Asha - Houston is a non-profit voluntary organization. The group only supports non-political and secular organizations and
projects. It is our goal to keep
Asha free of bureaucracy and to guarantee zero overhead & administrative
cost
