Strides of Hope 2011 - A Grand Success!!

Thanks for your overwhelming support for this unique community based event! We have grown a lot this year after last year's 48 hour non-stop relay in Bangalore. Children, senior citizens, professionals, home makers, students, teachers and even the support crew including paramedics participated in this year's edition!!

Total overall logged distance: 12255.1 Km

Children from Asha supported schools led the way by organizing the runs themselves and creating awareness about the cause. Many other communities joined in and became a part of the unique effort.

Announcements:

Closure of Asha chapters at Michigan State University and Penn State University.
Asha for Education is closing down two of its University chapters owing to continued dormancy resulting from a severe lack of volunteer resources to sustain them among various other reasons. This note is being put out for the public in general and to Asha's donors near these chapters in specific, to be mindful when directing their contributions to Asha for Education. Beginning October 19th 2010, Asha for Education will not be officially represented for any operational and/or fund raising activities performed under the banner of the aforementioned chapters. If and when more volunteers at one or both Universities show active interest to revive the chapter, full support will be extended to them to continue local awareness and fund raising efforts in these areas to support education related projects.
