Colors Of India was a fundraising spectacular presented by the Greater Kansas City chapter of Asha for Education. (Read more about Asha)

The event was a sellout and the chapter raised enough money to support the education of about 100 children for one whole year!! Thanks to every one of you who made this possible. Thanks to all the donors, big and small. Thanks to the performers and organizers of the event. Thanks to all the volunteers who dedicated their time to the cause.

Colors of India will be an event that truly highlights the glamour and grandeur of India, an evening filled with entertainment, that showcases the talents of the Greater Kansas City area, a festival that celebrates India’s rich and colorful cultural diversity by bringing the entire Indian community together.

The entertainment extravaganza will have around 700 viewers, about 50 participants and over 30 volunteers. The show takes a broad peek into contemporary India with innovative Fusion Dances presented by area’s major dance schools, a scintillating Musical Concert performed by an award winning group and an enchanting Fashion/Bridal Show presented by a prominent Indian designer displaying vibrant Indian bridal costumes blended with contemporary designs.

Walkathon 2009
The Greater Kansas City chapter of Asha for Education held a 5K fundraiser walkathon on Aug 30 (Sunday) at Shawnee Mission Park.
