To create awareness about issues that children at risk of sexual abuse face and to facilitate interaction between
action groups dealing with these children. We intend of complement their strengths and understanding of the root
causes of the problems with our reach and resources. We hope to achieve this by making progress on two fronts:
(1) document the issues associated with children of sex workers, and (2) improve grass roots organizations’
efficiency and understanding by facilitating interactions between them.

Ashraya
Ashraya's primary cause is the support and education of abandoned mentally and physically challenged children. The trust is run from Ms. Leela Deshpande's home in Bangalore, where the children also stay. The objective of Ashraya is to provide food, clothing and shelter to these children. Their education is taken care of by a primary school which Ashraya runs. It currently supports close to around 60 children. Site visit report 2003 |

Amandeep
The project involves training of high school teachers in the most violence affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Studies have shown that high school children in J&K experience alarming levels of trauma and stress due to exposure to over a decade of violence. Workshops will be conducted in the districts of Baramulla and Pulwama in J & K to provide the teachers the skills and tools to help the affected children. |

Parikrma
Parikrma provides formal education to under-served children from slum areas in and around Bangalore. The foundation runs two schools in Bangalore and provides high quality education, health care and nutrition to its children. Parikrma's vision is to provide a holistic, end to end program that covers education, health care, and nutrition. The intention is to ensure that the children evolve into individuals who can contribute to the economic progress of society. Site visit report 2003 |
