ASHA: Asha Open House

Hello everyone !
On behalf of Asha-Madison, I wish to sincerely thank all those who
took time off their busy scheduldes to attend the Asha Open House last
Saturday. I hope you liked the presentation and video and felt it was
worth your time to learn more about our organization. We appreciate your
support and look forward to working closely with you in the future.

Following were some of the suggestions made during the discussion
session:

-> Hold short presentations at AIA meetings, gatherings to spread
awareness about Asha among the Indian community.
-> Send out publicity emails on Indian mailing lists. Some companies are
known to have such lists among their employees.
-> Presently there is not much interaction between the student community
and working Indian community in Madison which earns Asha an image of an
all-student organization, which is not true. An effort must be made to
change this status-quo.
-> Put hyperlinks to the Asha homepage from websites frequently visited
by Indians like timesofindia.com
-> Set up an asha.com domain where people can have email accounts and
revenues raised from advertising can go to Asha

I strongly encourage you to attend Asha meetings. We usually meet
on Thu evenings in the Memorial Union/Union South at 6:00 p.m. Meeting
announcements are sent out on this list a few days before the meeting.
At the meetings we can discuss more about such fundraising and awareness
ideas and how to successfully implement them.

Presently, Asha-Madison is supporting two projects. Lets aim to
fund atleast two more projects during the coming academic year !

Looking forward to your continued support to Asha-Madison.

Sincerely,
Kamal
Asha-Madison
