All publicity material from IDS-Chicago is with Shoeb. The film is also with him. Kamal will be meeting with Shoeb over the weekend to get these. This material can be used to prepare posters and pamphlets. -> Different newspapers (Isthmus, Onion, etc.) will be contacted about deadlines for getting event listings in them. -> It was decided to get all publicity material (posters, emails) ready by 15th Oct. giving us 10 days to put up posters, send emails, etc. -> There was discussion about places where posters would be put up. -> Murali/Vidhi will be making the presentation on the 25th before the movie. -> We might have sign-up sheets for people who want to be on the Asha mailing list. But, we might have 2 separate mailing lists now, one for use by Asha volunteers and another for general announcements, updates, etc. for people interested in Asha. This is to avoid bombarding anybody and everybody with mails that they might not be interested in. Asha Hour Vote: --------------- -> After some discussion, it was decided to rank the various options for distri- buting Asha Hour funds as follows: (1) Split money between 2 or 3 projects. (Projects to be decided later) (2) Allocate all money to a single project. (Project to be decided later) (3) Give funds to individual chapters (based on how much they collected), and allocate general funds to the Ballia project. (4) Give funds to individual chapters (based on how much they collected), and distribute the general funds equally among all chapters. (5) Distribute all funds equally among all chapters. Split into 2 groups: -------------------- -> It was decided to split into 2 groups. Some people volunteered to be on the Projects group and some in the Events & Publicity group. Everyone interested to be on one (or both) group are requested to send mail to Sastry (sastry@cs.wisc.edu) with the group that they want to work in. However, we are deferring having separate meetings till the M.O.T.M. business is over with. One of the first items of business for the Projects group is to start discussion on the Little Stars' Project. Meanwhile, the Publicity group will work on other events and publicity efforts. Others: ------- -> Organize a T-shirt design competition (for everyone, not just Asha volunteers) to come up with a new design for T-shirts. The current design is almost 3 years old now. -> Need to have some "fun" events sometime in the future. -> Venkat suggested that we try to get some form of monthly-donation from people. There was discussion about the need to give back something to the donors in return. The idea of a newsletter was brought up. Matter for subsequent discussions.
