Charu sent out an email requesting more material for the newsletter. It
worked, but material needed on Apne Aap, and more pictures. Plan to send out
the newsletter in the 1st week of Dec.

Asha conference in Kanpur

There was a request for agenda items for the conference. No one could think
of anything that they wanted to include in the agenda. Further discussion
deferred to a later meeting.

Shikshantar mail

Much of the meeting was spent on this. Shikshantar sent an email to all the
people who attending the Manthan meeting, outlining their opposition to the
93rd amendment. They invited discussion on the issues. We had a free
discussion and decided to not try to summarize the debate.  Most of the
debate revolved around what does education mean?, the difference between
education and schooling, the content of schooling versus the values
people gain from schooling, on the philosophy of whether one throws away a
flawed system or tries to fix it.  The sense I got was that most or all
people did agree with Shikshantars
philosophy on what education ought to be, but disagreed on the ways to
achieve it.
