Attendees: Annapurna, Chandru, Charu, Kamal, Meena, Murali, Navin, Param, Subbu, Venki, Vidhi, Vidya, Vineeta, Vishal, Vinod - Next week, Naveen will give an update about hooking up with SECC. - Vineeta presented some preliminary quotes for T-shirts and polos. She'll follow up on this and provide more information at a later date. There was also some discussion about whether to go with 100% cotton or with 50% cotton T-shirt/Polos. It was felt that it would be good if the T-shirts are ready before the Asha conference in June/July. - AID-Milwaukee is organizing a L.Subramaniam and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt concert sometime in April/May. We decided to sell tickets here at Madison without any guarantees about the number of tickets we'll sell. We'll let AID handle all the publicity. We'll use any publicity material they have in publicizing the concert at Madison. - Vidhi discussed her impressions of her visit to the various Asha project sites during her recent vacation in India. She had been to the Little Stars' School at Varanasi. She felt that Asha Pandey was doing a great job, but was having a lot of difficulty in getting funds released (they are right now stuck up due to to some foreign exchange regulations). Solutions are being worked with the help of Sandeep Pandey. She also discussed her impressions and opinions of the Ballia project in UP and the AID-Bihar (not to be confused with Association for India's Development) project. This also generated a lot of discussion about the project and about Asha's ideology in general - about the nature of projects we fund - formal/non-formal. Vidhi felt that most of the good work being done in the field of education was in the area of non-formal education.
