June 17th 2007 CONFERENCE CALL Attendees: Jagpreet, Badri, Mayur, Sathish, Sangeetha and Pallavi 1. Sathish gave us all Gyanodaya update: Madison chapter has decided to disburse the funds in two installments of USD 2100 and USD 2000. Sathish has received the documentation form from Central Asha that needs to be filled out and sent to the Central coordination group before initiating the fund transfer. Sathish is to proceed with the transfer with all necessary coordination from Ranjith and Mayur (regarding the treasury) 2. We will also be receiving more update about the project from Austin (Bharath's visit), might be added to the website too. 3. Badri upadted the group briefly about what all was discussed at the last meeting. 4. Pallavi is to email Veni to follow-up on their discussion regarding AIA and the dance event that was discussed at the last meeting. 5. Sathish to Cheran about organizing the Epic Asha tournament this summer, 07. 6. Pallavi to contact Nivedita and Kamal about their project(s) update. (Follow-up: Kamal will be presenting a project 'Balwadi' at the netx meeting) 7. Everyone should come prepared to discuss the Balwadi project at the next meeting (Word file, according to Kamal has been emailed some time back, please contact him if you dont have it) 8. Pallavi and Mayur to come prepared to talk about additional projects at the next meeting. Pease email some word document describing the project to the group that others can read before the next meeting 9. Another project, Yuva was discussed by the group, however, since the objectives of ASHA do not currently fit in with the project needs, it was not considered for funding. Jag suggested having Yuva approach CRY possibly, which would be more in sync with the goals. 10. There was a preliminary discussion about the CHICAGO MARATHION- brought up by Badri. Badri will be getting back tot he group in detail about what and how can Asha Madison contribute to the marathon. 11. Pallavi has asked everyone in the group to get in touch with friends and colleagues who might be interested in running marathons for Chiacgo Marathon, Pallavi will be getting in touch with Amrish about the same.
