Minutes of Asha Meeting 07/11/01

Attendees: Sai,Nancy,Manoj,Charu,Sanjay,Param, one more (?)

Projects:

1)	Sevalaya
	Sai to check with Vidhi if project has been appraised before
	Sai to send copy of an earlier proposal to Sevalaya folks so
	that they can make a more formal proposal for funding

2)	Slum development project
 	Param to check with Asha-Delhi on whether they are funding this 
        initiative/ their evaluation of this initiative

Events:

1)	Aparna Sindhoor dance concert

	Given the costs involved, Asha would be assisting in organizing
	this event mainly for
	publicity/awareness and not as a fundraiser. Funds for the dancer
	would be raised from ASM. The tentative timeframe for the concert
	is end-Sept/early-Oct. If this does not work out, shift concert to
	next Spring.
 	Nancy to get in touch with Vidhi and check on Aparna's availability 
        in Fall 2001/Spring 2002
 	Based on this, Nancy to check on hall availability for Fall/Spring
 	Sai to get in touch with ASM regarding funding of concert

2)	Power to the People, Part Deux

 	Based on when the Aparna Sindhoor concert takes place (Fall/Spring), 
        the other semester would be utilized for organizing part deux of 
        "Power to the People"

3)	Midwest Conference

	The most likely dates of this event taking place are Sept
	1&2, 2001 Sai to circulate a list of chapters being invited
	on Asha-V; individual members to to take responsibility for
	calling 1 or 2 chapters and finding out how any people are
	likely to come for this meet; need to establish head count by end-July
	Need to look into booking a hall for the conference (any
	volunteers for checking this out?)

4)	WAH
 	WAH publicity material likely to be ready by now; volunteers 
        encouraged to check the website out (www.workanhour.com) , report 
        any glitches and encourage friends to make contributions
