Touch of India's screening of "Dil Se" -------------------------------------- - Touch of India is screening "Dil Se" this Sunday. All proceeds from the screening will be given to Asha. We need to publicize the movie screening. Murali sent over some posters for the purpose, which were distributed among volunteers to be put up around campus. Mail will also be sent out on some mailing lists announcing the screening. - People from Asha needed to attend the movie on 7th at Rocky Rococo. ("Dil Se" is the latest Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala hit in India. Director: Maniratnam, Music: A.R.Rehman) Stall on India Day (Sept. 12th) : --------------------------------- - On India Day, at the Asha table, Vidya has volunteered to apply Mehndi on the hands of people visiting the table. The AIA president will be contacted in this matter. Making of the Mahatma : ----------------------- - Mohan will be contacting Orpheum, University Square Theatres to find out about ther seating capacity and their rates for renting a theatre. - There were 25 responses to the questionnaires sent out on the various mailing lists. Of these, 2 poeple said they weren't interested in the movie. 9 (of which 6 were students) said that they would attend the movie even if the tickets were priced at $10. The other 14 said they wouldn't attend if the tickets were priced at $10. - Mohan, who had previously been involved in the screening of "Hazaar Chaurasi ki Maa" by IDS, was of the opinion that it might be a tough proposition to sell 200-250 tickets in a place like Madison. - Issue still not resolved, though, the general mood was not to take the financial risk. Else, might get Univ. funding and screen the movie free. Others: ------- - Posters for India Day and the IGSA presentation to be worked on over the weekend. - Vidhi mentioned that Shafatullah Khan, the tabla player, was willing to perform for Asha-Madison at a subsidised rate. This could be a possible fund raiser for Asha the coming semester.
