Beneficiary

Proceeds from this event will go primarily to our efforts to help the farmers of India battle the crisis they are facing. This year, in the single district of Vidarbha, there were about 800 farmer suicides due to extreme indebtedness. Unhealthy reliance on patented seed sources, reduction of organic farming and unsupportive economic policies have unfavorably positioned the Indian farmer in the global market. This has claimed about 100,000 lives in just the last decade.

Asha Madison intends to help the Indian Farmers by educating them about Organic Farming and enable their children to go to school among other efforts. Please help prevent this tragedy. We encourage you to spread the word about the crisis and our funding efforts. For an overview about the Agrarian Crisis in India, you may watch this PBS Documentary.
