Introduction & generic discussion:
After a round of introductions, there were a brief overview of Asha followed
by general questions. Aparna's question: Currently 2 MIT students working on
the project on development of a curriculum for kids – TB challenge as part
of the MIT IDEAS competition. can that be incorporated into Asha projects?
Parthiv/Amy to put her in touch w/Dr. Balu of SVYM.
Main Agenda
1) Fund disbursal is the current challenge at the Asha central level. There
was a request for to shift volunteer bandwith from fundraising to working
with Asha central to help with this. Working on this. Interested folks
please get in touch.
2) Newsletter - Need to get the newsletter out by mid-december.Arindham and
Hitesh agreed to be the point persons. Need help with writing articles,
finding advertising revenue, formatting, editing, folding and mailing.
Hitesh -– has experience with formatting newsletter.Pradeep will send past
newsletter copies and contacts for local businesses that have advertised in
past.
Other Discussion
Hitesh - – how can we meet the project stewards if we want to get involved
with projects quickly?Ans: After volunteers attend a couple of meetings and
express the interest, we add them to the asha_strategy mailing list and put
them in touch with them. There was brief overview provided on past events
and the need to focus on small scale events.
