Inspiring children.

Inspiring children.

Sanjeev Ranganathan
Dear Folks,

One of the advantages with working with grassroot organizations is that
it puts you in touch with some amazing ppl who are selflessly working for
others. It also puts you in touch with some amazing children. I wanted to
briefly profile one of them, since it is her moment of glory and because I
found her drive to survive, truly inspiring.

Lakshmi K is fifteen year old who has successfully cleared her board
examinations with around 80% aggregrate and is continuing her education to
XIth grade in her field of choice.
Her father deserted their family three years ago and her mother unable to
take care of her children, left them in the care of the Seva Chakkara
Orphanage.
With the affection and the very basic facilities available to her at the
orphanage she has put her personal life behind her and strived for
excellence in her studies. She has also not let the handicap, that she
can't walk, stop her from taking the path to school.

I was able to talk to all the children who cleared X grade last week and
they were all perky and enthusiastic about going to XI grade (between
themselves they covered all three courses Arts, Commerce and Science). I'm
going to send a card to these children congratulating them, if anyone
would like to sign it, please let me know.

luv,
Sanjeev
