Project Vidya Vikaas: The village Devapur is situated in Adilabad District of Andhra Pradesh, India. There is a small school (Government School) with classes’ 1st to 7th and the total strength of the school is 300. About 65% of the children that attend the 7th at this school do not go to the 8th, as there is no high school within a radius of 13 kms. Having the 8th, 9th and 10th classes in this school will help these children from dropping out of school. The government has approved to upgrade this upper primary school into a high school by providing 8th, 9th and 10th classes and will provide only the teaching staff but no other minimum requisitions. Asha Portland will help the school providing financial support to build classrooms and also in purchasing other necessary equipment.Click here to read full details about the project.
