Asha General Funds
Overview of General Funds

The general funds that have been accumulated since the inception of Asha are to be disbursed for a variety of projects. A team from Asha Princeton has taken ownership of this process and plans to disburse $100K to projects. Discussions on this have been ongoing in various newsgroups including Asha-wide, Asha-Coordination, Asha-Projects and Asha General Funds.Follow up telecons have also taken place along with these news group exchanges. These discussions have led to our current proposal that is  to be brought to a vote in the Oct 2002 timeframe.

Voting Timeline / Process

The last day to submit votes is NOVEMBER 10TH 2002

Chapters shall rank projects from 1 to 16. In case a chapter chooses to rank only some of the projects, all the remaining unranked projects will  get the last vote

Example: If Asha-Princeton ranks only one project say Project ABC. All the other projects will get the rank 2.

The votes received by the deadline from all the chapters will be tabulated.  Each project's ranks will be totalled.  The funding will start with the minimum total and continue until the $100K funds are exhausted.  If a project can only be partially funded when the $100K figure is reached, it has been agreed in the Asha General Funds Working group that the project will be fully funded.
