Asha Princeton is hosting a talk by Dr. Suresh Veeraraghavan.

Dr. Suresh is a well known activist in India who is working with the
Indian government in several areas including water, education, good
governance, Tsunami relief and human rights. He has spoken to Asha
Princeton earlier,
in October 2004.
This time, he will be talking to us about his Tsunami-related and
education-related work with the Tamil Nadu state government in India.
Brief details about Dr. Suresh:
Currently Tamil Nadu State Advisor on Food Security to the Supreme
Court of India
Worked on governance reform in the Water Board "Democratisation of
Water Management"; this wok has been judged the best in the year and is
being presented in Netherlands.
Advisor on Tsunami relief operations to the Tamil Nadu state
government - Dr. Suresh conducted public hearings throughout the state,
involving 6000 to 7000 people, and worked with the Tamil Nadu government
on implementing findings.
Working with the Directorate of Social welfare and the Department of
Education in Tamil Nadu to bring about organizational changes and better
governance practices.
Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry State Secretary of the People's Union for
Civil Liberties in India.
